Learning music helps to develop spatial intelligence by which one can visualize various elements that should go together.
Students of music learn to think creatively and learn craftsmanship as they study how details are put together.
The study of music enhances teamwork skills and discipline.
Music provides children with a means of self-expression and increases their self-esteem.
Learning music develops skills in "doing," as opposed to observing and teaches students how to perform. They learn better communication skills as they perform to evoke the desired mood and feelings.
Performing music teaches people to conquer fear and contribute to mental health and can help prevent risky behavior.
Scientists say that children who are exposed to music and those who play an instrument, do better in school than those who don't.
Music lessons and playing instruments develop reading and listening skills and also improve IQ and concentration levels.
Learning to play an instrument helps to enhance motor skills and helps to foster hand-eye co-ordination also.
Adults will benefit from learning to play a musical instrument as this helps the mind to be alert and remain active. This also helps to sharpen the memory. “ I have known Mr. Binoy since our family came to Hyderabad two years ago.Since then he has been teaching music to my wife and to our two older children Graham ( 9 years old)and Andre ( 6 ) years old. We consider him to be an excellent music teacher and feel lucky to have the opportunity to take advantage of his expertise.
Mr.Binoy is clearly dedicated to the cause of passing on his appreciation of music to others and is deeply interested in the progress of his students. He is extremely patient and also very quick to encourage any evidence of flair for music, so we are well satisfied with him as a teacher. In addition we are acquainted with a large number of people in Hyderabad who are, or have been associated with Mr. Binoy and, without exception they hold him in high esteem.Apart from his ability as a music teacher, Mr. Binoy is a steadfast person of strong character. He is a man of integrity with strong principles and sound judgment. He is without doubt a real asset to the community with which he is associated ‘….Dr D.R. Butler. Former Principal Microclimatologist, Resource Management Program. ICRISAT. 7TH May 1990.
“I have known Mr. Binoy Venkatachellum since 1981 when he began to teach piano to my six years old daughter, Ishani. I have observed and therefore I must record that Mr. Binoy is an excellent music teacher who takes great pains and pride in teaching young students of music.Mr. Binoy both motivated and inspired my daughter to reach great heights in piano music passing The Trinity College of Music London examinations from grade 2 to grade 7 with ease and merits and distinctions. Even when my daughter shifted to Sri Lanka for her studies in 1986, she continued to have Mr.Binoy as her most important teacher. Binoy always chose the exam pieces and when my daughter came for Christmas holidays he taught her the pieces sufficiently for her to proceed with minimum teaching in Sri Lanka. Before the examinations, Binoy would telephone Ishani in Sri Lanka and give her last minute instructions knowing her weak points and her capabilities. Binoy has the ability to assess students’ capabilities and teaches the techniques and finer points of music. He also thoroughly knows all the examination requirements. Mr. Binoy, as I have known him for the last nine years is a great and talented music teacher and still a greater and genial person. A man of high integrity and versatility. I recommend him highly as a piano music teacher. “…Dr.Gamini Gunasekhara. Advisor to The Director General. ICRISAT. April 23,1990.

“With THE RISING OF THE SUN, HOPE AND THE SETTING THEROF PEACE”My Dear Binoy Venkatachellum.I deem it a distinction that at the Commemoration day parade the expressive Eventide Hymn “Abide with Me” was rendered by the choir in such a majestic and harmonious fashion accompanied by the massed police Band. This is the first time ever in our country that the entire hymn was rendered at the Police Commemoration Day Parade in such a fashion and made the occasion more meaningful, when we paid tribute to our fallen colleagues. On behalf of the entire Police Force, I thank you for your innate concern shown and the colossal effort. With best wishes.Sri.S.R.Sukumara. IPS.Director General of Police. Andhra Pradesh. India.
Dear Binoy, ”Music fills the infinite between two souls”-Rabindranath Tagore.I think that is exactly what we accomplished, filling the void between us and the audience, conveying to them the beauty and joy of timeless hymns. Thank you for singing on Gandhi Jayanthi and making it truly memorable for so many who have very limited access to such meaningful music. The Chimes (Tubular bells) you played were truly magical-thank you for all the effort!God bless you.Mrs. Aruna M. Bahuguna. IPS. Director General of Police. Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad.

What former students say !
It seems only like yesterday that Binoy Sir asked me to hold the drumstick for a second. He let me join the band as soon as he heard me playing. I can’t believe that it has been ten years since that day! It was the beginning of what has become my most favourite activity - playing the bass drum for the school band. There are lots of activities in school but being a part of the school band has been the most enjoyable. A special thank you to Binoy Sir and Bishop Sir, who have always encouraged me. Leaving the band is going to be hard for me, but as they say life goes on….the unfinished symphony.Miss. Neha Sultana. Class XC. 2010. NASR School. Hyderabad. India
Dear Mr. Binoy, Lovely to get in contact after such a long time! I have to say you were my favourite teacher, with such happy memories. I’ve carried on music thanks to you. I currently hold the 1st Solo saxophone chair in Doncaster Youth Stageband in the Jazz Association. In 2008 I was offered a job in the Army as a musician. I turned this down to continue my studies. Do you still have the talking parrot I remember so well? Take care.Alice Hindle. UK.
